Class Goals:  All students will be able to read, write and speak in the target language using the vocabulary taught in class.  All students are expected to be active participants in the classroom activities and discussions at all times. 

Deutsch I students will move from Novice Low proficiency to Novice Mid/High proficiency in all areas.

Deutsch II students will move from Novice Mid/High proficiency to Novice High/Intermediate Low proficiency in all areas.

 

Class Rules:

1.   Students must come to class with a composition notebook, paper and pen/pencil.

2.   Students must enter the classroom in a courteous fashion and must be in their seats ready to work by final bell.

3.   Students must respect the rights and feelings of others at all times.

4.   Students must complete and turn in all work in a timely fashion.

5.   Students must use the bathroom between classes.  You will receive four bathroom passes.  Use them wisely.

6.   Make-up tests/quizzes will only be given before or after school. 

7.   STUDY, STUDY, STUDY!!  Students must review all work covered in class on a daily basis.  Do NOT wait until test time to review!

Grading System:  Final grades are a result of grades obtained from tests, quizzes, projects, oral presentations, notebook/textbook checks and class participation/behavior.  Refer to Student Handbook for grade analysis.

Teamwork:  Students will be working in pairs/teams during group activities.  Everyone is expected to partake in this opportunity and will be graded accordingly for this.

​

Tests/Quizzes/Projects:  Vocabulary tests will be given on Wednesdays.  Unit/Chapter tests, which include grammar points, will be given on Fridays.

​

Keys to Success:  All students are required to be prepared to be active learners.  Please use loose-leaf paper at all times.  No assignments will be accepted unless it is written on loose-leaf paper.  Please take pride in yourself and your work.  Remember:  Everything you do in life is a reflection of yourself.  Put your best foot forward at all times.

​

Attitude:  A positive attitude is required at all times.  I do NOT subscribe to “I can’t”, but rather in “I’ll try my hardest!”.  Everyone starts out with a 100% in my class.  It is up to you to keep it!!!

 

Problems/Questions/Concerns:  Do NOT wait until a crisis arises.  I believe in an open door policy.  There is no such thing as a STUPID question.

Absences:  It is the responsibility of each student to obtain any handout that was handed out in their absence.  Do NOT expect the teacher to follow up on these.  Students are required to check with his/her study buddy upon their return to class.

​

7. glue                                                       14.  A positive attitude & 100% Best behavior
